About us and our team.

Arts Radio Network was founded in 2009 by Caroline Breder-Watts and John C. Watts (2Watts Productions) to profile South Florida’s arts community.  The website grew out of Caroline and John’s long involvement in public broadcasting, and a desire to promote the local community through audio, utilizing the NPR model of radio storytelling.  ARN was the first-ever recipient of the Creative Endeavor grant from the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, and many of ARN’s interviews have also been heard on 91.3 WLRN, South Florida’s public radio station, on Sunday mornings at 8:34 a.m. as part of Sunday Breakfast with the Arts, hosted by Caroline Breder-Watts.  2Watts Productions has now relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, and is currently working on new podcasts for this region.

Caroline and John have also developed two others facets of 2Watts Productions – radio theater and film programming. The Arts Radio Network Theatre Project has partnered for the past several years with WLRN to present WLRN Radio Theatre, and has performed at venues including the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ New River Room, Old School Square, the Seminole Theatre, the Humphrey Bogart Film Festival and the Studios of Key West. Also in partnership with WLRN, ARNTP received a John S. and James L. Knight Foundation “What’s Your Best Idea” grant to write and perform radio plays based on news stories.  Caroline has also developed and curated film programming for venues and film festivals for the past decade.
